When you create a website an important page to have is the contact page.
And on that contact page, you want a contact form.
Today, I’m going to show you how to add a contact form to WordPress using one of my favorite plugins, Gravity Forms.
Below is the video tutorial, as well as written instructions.
Step 1: Install Gravity Forms
Once you’ve purchased Gravity Forms, install the plugin on your site.
Step 2: Create a New Form
In the left hand menu, select Forms >> New Form.
A popup will appear asking you for a Form Title and Form Description. These will be visible to website visitors.
Click “Create Form”.
Step 3: Add Desired Fields
The Form Editor will now appear.
On the right hand side, you can select and add a variety of form fields.
These include simple fields such as single text lines, check boxes, and more. As well as advanced fields, like date selectors and email boxes.
Simply click on a form field and it will be added to the left hand side of the screen. Here, you can edit the fields: delete, move around, and change settings.
Step 4: Change Field Settings
Once you’ve added all your form fields, you can make adjust their settings.
For instance, you’ll want to change field labels and make certain fields required.
See the image below for the locations of these settings.
Step 5: Add to Page or Post
Once you have completed adding form fields and changing their settings, it’s time to add them to a page or post.
Go to edit the page or post where you’d like to add the form.
Move your cursor to the position on the page you’d like the form.
At the top of the editor, next to the Add Media button, you’ll see an Add Form button, such as in the screen shot below. Click that button.
You are then able to select your form from the drop down.
Once you click the Insert Form button, there will be a short code as a placeholder for the form.
But when you view the page, you’ll see your form.
When anyone fills out the form, it will email you the details.
