I have some exciting news.
Over the past few months, I’ve been working on my very first WordPress plugin.
And it is finally available for free on the WordPress.org Plugin Directory!
What It Does
‘WooCommerce Sort By Stock’ is a relatively simple plugin.
Once you install it, it does one thing and one thing only. As such, there are no plugin settings or options.
Once you’ve installed and activated the plugin, visit your WooCommerce Product Dashboard page (where you can view all your products on the backend), you will have the ability to sort your products by the amount of stock available.
In the ‘Stock’ admin column, just click the heading and the products will sort in ascending order by stock amount. So you’ll see out of stock products first, followed by products that are marked as in stock but don’t have inventory management turned on, and then products with inventory management, from least to most.
You can click the admin column header again and sort in descending order, which will show products with the most stock amount first, descend down to in stock products without inventory management turned on, and finally show out of stock products.
Why Did I Create This Plugin?
Actually, one of my clients had asked me if there was a way to sort her products by the amount of inventory she had. I knew this wasn’t built in to WooCommerce, so I started searching for a plugin and couldn’t find one.
So I decided to use this as a starting point to try building my very first plugin.
‘WooCommerce Sort By Stock’ is the result
Special Help From…
I need to thank Nathan Tyler of TylerDigital.com for helping me with the basic code of the plugin and answering my texts when I got stuck, and Mike Epstein for checking over my plugin and giving me some great feedback I incorporated into the final version.
